College of Fellows
The AIA College of Fellows seeks to stimulate a sharing of interests among Fellows, promote the purposes of AIA, advance the profession of architecture, mentor young architects, and be of ever-increasing service to society.
AIA Fellowship
AIA Fellows are recognized with the AIA’s highest membership honor for their exceptional work and contributions to architecture and society. Architects who have made significant contributions to the profession and society and who exemplify architectural excellence can become a member of the AIA College of Fellows. AIA College of Fellows Component Grant
The College of Fellows has established the AIA College of Fellows Component Grant to assist AIA components in developing programs that enhance the development of emerging architects and welcome others into the profession. We encourage new directions in mentorship, enhancement of existing programs, and outreach to currently underrepresented groups. Proposed programs can be directed to a range of participants, from K-12 students to professionals seeking Fellowship, and encourage collaborative programs between local AIA components and schools, colleges, community groups, and professional firms. Fellows are a unique resource and can have an important role in these programs.

Leslie N. Boney Spirit of Fellowship Award
In 2000, the Chancellor of the College of Fellows, Robert A. Odermatt, FAIA, presented the first Spirit of Fellowship award to Leslie N. Boney Jr., FAIA, for his outstanding service and commitment to the College. Later that same year, the Executive Committee of the College voted to name the award after the first recipient, and thus it became known as the Leslie N. Boney Spirit of Fellowship Award. The award recognizes continuous, exceptional service and dedication to the College.
