AIA holiday closure December 25-January 1
AIA national offices will be closed December 25—January 1. The Member Support Center also will be unavailable during this time.
During this time, you will still be able to access your AIA account online and complete actions including renewing your membership, changing your membership status, viewing or printing your AIA member transcript, and renewing your AIA Continuing Education Provider subscription.
AIA will reopen on Thursday, January 2, 2025. The Member Support Center will also reopen Thursday, January 2, at 8:30am ET.
Membership renewals
Membership renewal dues must be paid by January 15, 2025.
You can download a copy of your renewal by logging in to your account at aia.org/renew.

Please email membersupport@aia.org to obtain a copy of your membership dues receipt.
Yes. You can enroll in the Dues Installment Program when renewing your membership at aia.org/renew.
Complete the Associate to Architect Form and return it to membersupport@aia.org You will receive an email confirmation after your request has been processed.
Before renewing, please fill out the Chapter Transfer Form and return it to membersupport@aia.org. We will process it when we reopen. You will be notified once processed and you can renew under your new chapter.
Continuing education—AIA members
Review your transcript at https://www.aia.org/my-account/transcript. After you’ve logged in, you can filter by date range, filter by state, download a PDF, and/or print your transcript.
AIA CES education providers have 10 business days to report AIA member attendance. Please allow them that time to report. If a provider does not report attendance within 10 business days, please contact the provider and/or AIA CES at ces@aia.org. Do not self-report approved courses completed through registered AIA CES Providers.
Yes. For AIA-approved courses from registered AIA CES Providers, your transcript will reflect the date you completed the learning program regardless of when attendance was submitted by the provider. Self-reports will reflect the date of completion included with the self-report, not the date the self-report was submitted or approved.
No. Member self-reports for courses delivered by registered AIA CES Providers will be denied. AIA CES providers have 10 business days to report AIA member attendance. Please allow them that time to report. If a provider does not report attendance within 10 business days, please contact the provider and/or AIA CES at ces@aia.org.
No. Instead, please contact the provider to ensure they have your correct AIA member number and forward a copy of your certificate of completion to ces@aia.org.
Most self-report submittal issues are due to formatting problems with the learning statement. Please ensure that you have completed the required fields including course title, credit amount, credit type, education description, and learning statement. The learning statement must be between 250 and 2,000 characters in length . Characters includes letters, spaces, numbers, and punctuation. Do not format the learning statement as bullet points, an outline, or anything other than complete sentences.
Continuing education—AIA CES Providers
AIA CES staff will review submitted programs in the order in which they are received. Reviews can take up to 10 business days. The days AIA is closed do not count as business days.
Click on your renewal link, for the option to download a PDF of your invoice. Begin the renewal process online. When you get to the final step, you will have the option to pay online or download a PDF of your invoice.
You can only edit when a course is in “draft” status. First, change your course status from “requires more information” to “draft.” This will enable the edit function. Next, provide the information requested by the course reviewer, change the course status from “draft” back to “submitted/pending approval” so that your course will return to the review queue. Courses can only be reviewed by AIA CES staff once they are in “submitted/pending approval” status.
We do not need a copy of the course presentation to review your learning program. Unless AIA CES staff specifically request that you submit your course presentation materials, course reviews are conducted based on the information submitted in the course information on CES Dashboard.
Before any course attendance can be reported, you must first create the course session. Ensure that the bulk attendance is submitted using the bulk attendance Excel file template, which can be downloaded from the “bulk attendance” button under the “manage attendance section on the CES Dashboard landing page. Input the required information on the template and save as a .csv file. When you are ready to upload the attendance form, choose "bulk attendance" and select "choose file" on the pop-up.
No. Per Standard S14-03 “Stating AIA credit and approval” of the AIA CES Standards for Continuing Education Programs, you can advertise your course as “Submitted to AIA CES for approval” once you have submitted the course through the CES Dashboard. However, course credit type and amount cannot be advertised until the course has been approved by AIA CES.
